CHEP Good Food Inc. is a community-based charitable organization that works with children, families and communities to improve access to good food and promote food security.

Community food security is a condition in which all community residents obtain a safe, culturally acceptable, nutritionally adequate diet through a sustainable food system that maximizes community self-reliance and social justice.

To improve access to affordable healthy food To support people and communities in

developing skills and building capacity To work towards a sustainable food system To develop and nurture strong partnerships

that use resources efficiently by collaborating to further the above three goals

To develop sustainable social enterprise To develop sustainable social enterprise ventures that support our visionventures that support our vision

Good Food Box pre-pack. Every second Tuesday.

Good Food Box (30 volunteer coordinators plus 5 pre-pack and 20 packing day volunteers every 2 weeks)

Seniors markets (6 community volunteers)

Community gardening (20 volunteer garden coordinators plus weeders and special events helpers)

Kids’ Cooking Programs (at least one volunteer per school at every session)

12 Collective Kitchen leaders Volunteer board of directors

Centralized Kitchen (2 – 5 volunteers, weekday mornings at North Park Wilson School)

Helping with the Boxcar Café (variable) Special Event Volunteers (Seedy

Saturday, Park(ing) Day, ect)…

Be treated as an equal Receive meaningful assignments with the

opportunity to improve on skills and knowledge

Be fully involved in community development programs that support social, environmental and economic health

Be recognized for work done

Perform assigned duties to the best of your ability

Be loyal to CHEP’s goals and procedures Show respect to all other volunteers and CHEP

staff Obtain approval from appropriate staff prior to

any action or statement which might significantly affect or obligate CHEP (eg. public statements to the media, coalition or lobbying efforts with other organizations etc.)

Show respect for the confidentiality of all proprietary or privileged information to which you are exposed while serving as a volunteer
