Gold- and Iodine-Mediated Internal Oxygen Transfer of Nitrone- and Sulfoxide--Functionalized Alkynes. — Treatment of nitrones of type (I) and (IV) with iodine re-sults in selective formation of isoindolones. The Au-catalyzed reaction of substrates bearing a terminal alkyne unit provides cyclic iminoesters like (III), while nitrones with propyne moieties yield enones such as (VI).
