ChEAS from the Ashes!• Some new, some old• Improved things:

– Focus on management/disturbance and climate adaptation/mitigation; non-CO2 greenhouse gases (methane); beefy modeling; automated real-time tower observations; hyperspectral-lidar-thermal imaging out the whazoo (or ER-2 more specifically); aquatic-terrestrial linkages (LTER); turned WLEF into a C-sink; restarted Sylvania; NEON is knocking on the door

• Not as good:– Less water cycling work; Funding; 3 of 6 levels on WLEF; regional

inverse modeling; roving sites dead; Lost Creek sinking into mud; Ameriflux reduced; Data deluge
