Trying different tests on cereal

STARCH TEST

1st I took cereal, mashed it into a powder and put it

in a test tube

2nd I put water and iodine solution and mixed it

together

3rd I put a little water into it

Result: the solution turned black

Conclusion: starch is present

PROTEIN TEST

1st I took cereal, mashed it to a powder and put it

in a test tube

2nd I took biuret solution A and biuret solution B

and added it to the test tube

Result: turned dark blue

Conclusion: protein is present

FAT TEST

1st I took cereal and mashed it into a powder

2nd I rubbed it onto a filter paper

Result: if you hold the paper up to the light, it turns

translucent

Conclusion: cereal contains fat

HOW IS CEREAL GOOD FOR OUR B ODY?

Cereal is full of carbohydrates which gives us

Milk contains calcium which gives you strong hair,

teeth and bones

Fiber helps you swallow food

Protein helps you grow
