Who is elegible?

First year, full-time SGH students of Master’s Programme of ANY major

(recent change of the rule!)

and

WHO..

▪ will have still 2 semesters of studies at the beginning of 2020/2021 academic year.

Students of 2nd semester must declare semester-off in Spring 2020, and 3rd semester

students must be already on year-off!

Entry requirements

▪ English: CEMS Approved, selected commercial tests or university degree

▪ 2nd Foreign Language: SGH approved commercial tests or CNJO Language Competence

tests, CNJO Certificate, secondary (B2)/higher education (C1) in other foreign language of

CEMS.

▪ Duly completed on-line applications (CPM and CEMS)

▪ Submission of required documents to CPM within deadline.

Important:

▪ Possibility to declare more than one mothertongue and to convert one of these as second

language (unless it is English) if a student has a proof of fluency in the declared language.

▪ All students must sign and submit with application documents a new document:

Mothertongue Declaration Form (MDF).

Student Performance

▪ Points will be granted credits based solely on their admission result regardless of the

semester of studies pursued.

▪ Graduates of SGH BA studies admitted based on high GPA, will get their points based on

the GPA at BA Studies after 5th semester.

▪ Students admitted based on the Test of Knowledge in Economy and Foreign Language

(TKEFL) will get their points based on test result.

▪ Students admitted without TKEFL, or as foreigners will get the average mean of points for

that criterion awarded to other candidates, who fulfilled entry requirements.

▪ GPA

▪ Minimum GPA required: 3.80 (New treshold)

▪ (GPA – 3.40) x 25

▪ SGH Entry Test

▪ Minimum test result: 62 (New treshold)

▪ (Test result – 50) x 0.8

Languages - FL1

ENGLISH (minimum score required)

▪ TOEFL (PBT600/CBT250/iBT100)

▪ IELTS Academic (7.0)

▪ CAE (B);

▪ CPE – C1 Certificate

▪ BEC Higher (A)

▪ GCSE (A-level) issued in Singapore

▪ Exemption: University degree from entirely English taught programme from CEMS or

EQUIS/AACSB Int’l accredited school or issued in English-speaking country.

OTHER LANGUAGES (if English is a candidate’s mother tongue)

▪ CNJO Language Competence Tests (passed in 2017 or later), CNJO Certificates or approved

certificates in other languages

Languages – FL2

▪ University degree –incl. philology and applied linguistics studies (C1)

▪ Secondary education in the given language (B2), or

▪ Secondary degree of bilingual school (B2), if there is an official document

issued by the Embassy of the given country stating that a candidate may

apply to universities in that country without any further proof of

proficiency, or

▪ CNJO Certificate (B1 minimum), or

▪ CNJO Language Competence Test or equivalent (60 points minimum), or

▪ Completion of langauge courses from CEMS accredited cultural institutes

at B1 level with min. workload of 4-6 hours per week, per semester (60

points awarded regardless of the CEFR level).

Languages – Calculation formula

▪ No points for FL1 (English or other CEMS language if English is your

mothertongue); the other language must be at B2 level – 76 points)

▪ FL 2 (points are assigned for proficiency at CEF level B1 or higher – 60 points)

▪ The formula:

(SGH Competence Test or equivalent points - 60) x 0.5

Shelf life (validity) of FL2 commercial tests/courses:

▪ C1-C2 – no limit

▪ B2-B2+(B2/C1) – 5 years

▪ A1-B1+ (B1/B2) – 2 years

▪ CNJO tests & Certificates – 2 years (from 2017 on)

▪ Uploaded from SGH Student Activity Database (projects)

▪ Cut-off number of points: 20

▪ Check the database and contact your organisation’s president

Attention:

▪ Non-SGH graduates of Bachelor’s studies are supposed to present asap proofs

of their student activity at home school to:

Assignment of slots

▪ Ranking according to achieved selection points, university preferences and language

restriction. Minimum to be accepted for CEMS MIM is 66 points (60% of the max. total

available score), provided there is sufficient number of slot available to all such candidates.

Vice Rector for Int’l Rel. with Academic Director may change the minimum.

▪ No swapping allowed. Resignation after initial results will require re-assignment.

Resignation after re-assignment initiates „waterfall” process of offering slots to students

who had that preference higher in their ranking.

▪ Unused or released slots will be offered first to those on waiting list, then to those who

wish to replace assigned slot for other preference due to unstable situation in the

destination country or due to lack of acceptance by host school.

Entry requirements – A summarySGH student of MA studies (1st or 2nd semester) of all majors (New)

GPA/SGH Entry Test – New, higher threshold!

▪ Minimum GPA required: 3.80

▪ Minimum test result: 62

Certificate of proficiency in English (minimum level)

▪ CAE (B); CPE – C1 Certificate; TOEFL iBT (100); IELTS Academic (7.0);

BEC Higher (A)(or university degree of studies taught entirely in English CEMS or AACSB/EQUIS accredited school or

University in English speaking country)

Be prepared – Read carefully!▪ Take English or FL2 test no later than 26 October if you haven’t any.

▪ Submit a proof of your student activity, if you were not SGH student.

▪ Read rules and regulations with all appendixes, especially App. 1 & 2

▪ Apply as early as possibile – do not leave it for 5 November!

▪ Apply both at SGH and CEMS selection on-line systems.

▪ When applying on-line, follow the steps described in Appendix 2.

▪ When choosing schools, be smart – choose accroding to your real preference and

consider financial/distance aspects.

▪ Make scans/pdf of your language docs and CV+LM+MDF and upload it.

▪ Re-enter the system and check if everything is fine. If any corrections occure,

please do not forget to SAVE changes on all altered pages.

▪ Put all printouts (do not insert originals of Certificates and diplomas) into clear

punched folder with standard front page according to Appendix 5

▪ CV & LM – only in pre-defined format – student-customised docs will be rejected!
