JOIN THE “ROE”-SARY PRAYER CAMPAIGN
Join Emmanuel Catholic Radio’s “ROE”-SARY Prayer Campaign, to ask our Holy Mother’s intercession to help us defeat passage of the extreme abortion bill, the Roe Act, in Massachusetts. If passed, S.1209/H.3320 would make the most extreme abortion rights in the country the law in MA. Please sign up to pray the “ROE”-SARY at Church, home, commuting to work, or anywhere you can to help us pray this Act out of the legislature. Call 508-767-1230, visit 1230radio.com, or email cindy.dorsey@1230radio.com. How many “ROE”-SARIES can you say to protect our unborn children?
Pro-Life Victory!
Recently, the Trump Administration announced that certain parts of its Title X regulations – the “Protect Life
Rule” – will go into effect immediately. The announcement comes after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals allowed a prior
panel decision to stand, lifting injunctions that were blocking the rule from going into effect.
The rule prohibits Title X funding for organizations that refer for abortions or provide abortions. In total, Title X
provides around $260 million in grants each year to clinics, including Planned Parenthood. Abortion is neither health
care nor family planning and therefore should not be funded by the Title X program. Additionally, a majority of
Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion. The Protect Life Rule helps to get taxpayers out of the abortion
business, without cutting resources for those in need. This is a long-fought for and significant pro-life policy
victory! The Protect Life Rule is worth celebrating because it means that less taxpayer dollars will support our nation’s
largest abortion provider while life-affirming health care options will be funded at the same or increased levels, providing health care services for women and families.

An Oklahoma farm boy, Fr. Stanley
Francis Rother was born in Okarche. Ordained a priest for the Oklahoma City and Tulsa Dio- cese in 1963, he served in their Guatemala mission for 14 years, ministering to the Tzutuhil tribe. Padre Francisco, as he was affectionately known, learned the Tzutuhil language and became one with his poverty-stricken flock, ministering in their homes, eating with them, visiting sick, aiding with medical problems and helping on their farms. While in Guatemala, a civil war raged between militarist government forces and the guerillas, and hundreds of thousands of Catholics were killed due to the Church’s insistence on helping people. Eventually, Fr. Stan was targeted. For his safety, he returned to Oklahoma, but couldn’t hold himself back from his people. After a short time, akin to his own “Garden of Gethsemane” moment, he returned, famously saying “the shepherd cannot run.” Within days of his return to Santiago Atitlan, three men entered the rectory and killed him. A true imitation of the Good Shepherd who laid down his life for his flock, Fr. Stan was declared a martyr and beatified in 2017.

Feast Day: July 28
17th Sunday in Ordinary Time “Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9) Jesus assures us that if we ask, God will take care of what we need. The problem is that our culture often confuses what we really need with what we simply want. Many people need very little. However, we usually want so much more. A good steward only asks
God for what he needs.
