Thanksgiving Food and Volunteers Needed
Food donations are being collected at the back of church for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Thanksgiving basket program start-ing next weekend. Items needed include: stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, gravy mix, and cans of green beans, corn, yams, chick-en broth, cranberry sauce and pie fill-ing. Perishable food such as turkeys, pies, or butter are gratefully accepted at the St. Vin-cent de Paul office at 8617 Teal Street. Vol-unteers are also needed to distribute the food baskets November 18-19. Please contact Maureen Hall at 209-0799 for more infor-mation.
The Widowed Persons Program and Hospice & Home Care of Juneau are pleased to
announce a special public program on “Grief, Loss & the Holidays”. This program is
open to all families and friends who have lost a loved one through death. It will offer
ideas on how to journey through the holiday season.
It will be held on Thursday, November 9thin the Community Room at Fireweed Place
(415 Willoughby Avenue) at 5:30 pm. Light Refreshments will be served. This is a
free public event.

challenges such as depression, bipolar disorder,
anxiety, psychosis or related conditions? NAMI
Juneau can help. We know it can be difficult to find
information, support, and understanding. Our free
classes and support groups offer a wealth of
information and guidance when coping with the unique
challenges of living with a mental health condition or
caring for someone who does.
NAMI’s Family to Family class is designed to share
information and support for family members and
friends. It is a 12 session course providing up-to-date
information on a variety of diagnoses and treatment
options, plus strategies to help with communication,
problem solving, crisis intervention and locating
appropriate materials. The class started September
18th, and meets every Monday and Wednesday from
5:15-7:30.

St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church is hosting the video series The Bible and the Sacraments. While Catholics know the sacraments are important, many never understand how life-changing these “masterworks of God” really are. This 11-week video series is based on the book Swear to God by Scott Hahn, and is produced by the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology.
The series is presented on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm, St. Peter’s Hall, 9055 Atlin Drive. All are welcome.
