he cars, the lights, the people and the sounds of the breaks from underground trains in

the subway. Welcome to my hood and my city. The place I know like the pocket in my

jeans. It’s Casual Friday at work, and I have to get dressed in a hurry; Should I go for my

chino shorts and a flower printed shirt together with a cable knit. Or should I go for the

dotted t-shirt. I finally put on my favourite denim shorts, navy blue shirt and my new

blazer jacket – a more casual easy-going look, but still stylish. I jump on my fixie bike,

grab a cup of black coffee at Joe’s Place, and I am all set for another day in the concrete jungle.

Thank God it’s Friday. Walking home through the park, ready to meet my friends outside my

local café, I have the time to think and reflect about the past week, and what is on tonight.

The city is full of opportunities: Sometimes we end up crashing a rooftop party, or we go to the

city park for a concert. This is my city, my springtime, my sunset, my Friday night– it’s every-

thing I love about life. And I don’t mind sharing it with you. It’s all yours.
