Video CallingMore Than a Third of U.S. Adult Smartphone Users Use Their Smartphones for Video Calling

● Every major smartphone has video calling platforms built in

● Popular messaging services like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger all have video calling features

● Video-chat services like Skype, Google Hangout, and Apple’s FaceTime have become a feature of the online and smart phone environment.

61% of cell phone owners aged 18 to 29 years in the United States had accessed video chat services via mobile.

Video & Public Safety

● Dispatchers have a greater understanding of

events unfolding on the ground

● Up-to-the-second video ensures that decision

makers have access to updated intelligence.

● Dispatchers can quickly and easily give

medical instructions if necessary, and ensure

that they are being followed correctly.

MOBILE C2I OPERATOR

The call starts by dialing 911...

Contacting 911When making a report to 911, integration on the device level ensures a seamless IP based calling experience for the user. When the voice call is connected, the camera is activated and begins streaming live video to the PSAP.

The user can initiate a phone call using voice (i.e “Siri call the police) or touch (dialing the numbers 911 on their phone).

C2I PlatformThe C2I dispatch platform is the tool that brings the events from citizen to the Call Center / PSAP.

Real-time information from the field can only be turned into actionable data once processed efficiently.

Prioritize incoming calls for service simply and accurately.

Operator PlatformOnce the call has been routed from the C2I to the dispatcher, they receive all of the metadata and information from the caller.. In addition to live video & audio at the scene of reported events, the system provides dispatchers with caller’s personal details, pinpointing location and a reliability rating. In the event that a reporter is unable to speak, our 2-way live chat feature allows the operator to communicate with the caller instantly and clearly.

CRMEnables a deep diving into the entire status of each event reported through the systems. By navigating between tickets, viewing past events and the profile of each of the reportees, the CRM enables the command and control managers to get a greater understanding of the behaviour of their customers, and in time predict future patterns.

REPORTER OPERATOR

Video in EMS

• Clear assessment of situation• Provide remote assistance to those in need• Improved response time• IP based can go through WiFi

Pros

• May encounter disturbing visuals• Requires increased training for call takers• Bandwidth consumption• Requires data channel

Cons

Education & Training

• PSAP operators will undergo enhanced

training in order to prepare themselves for

video reports

• Carbyne will create and distribute a

curriculum to help prepare PSAP operators

for video reports

• Carbyne is working with the public safety

community in order to ensure all PSAP

operators are able to work with streaming

video

Network & Infrastructure

The system architecture diagram reflects the modularity of the infrastructure and represent the various components and their dedicated role within the full ecosystem.

Full Ecosystem for Emergency Services

Indoor PositionReporty Fused Statistical Machine Learning and Inertial Odometry algorithm enable collection of unique RF signatures created by Wi-Fi and BLE transmitters. The system harnesses the widespread of commodity Wi-Fi routers and BLE emerging technology in indoor spaces and together with the power of the crowd auto-maps our indoor environments in order to provide upon demand an accurate micro-positioning in real-time.

Exact indoor position including elevation

Both the FCC and public safety community are working towards a more accurate indoor positioning location technology. We are happy to work hand-in-hand with regulatory bodies and advocates to help overcome technical roadblocks.

Carbyne has worked with emergency personnel, governments, and public safety groups internationally to ensure that a technology can be developed that both locates people outdoors and indoors but still respects the privacy of citizens.

Carbyne has worked with cell phone carriers internationally and is looking to bring this cooperation to the United States.

RouterA ‘Virtual call router’(Patented) is used to optimize communication via: UMTS, 3G, 4G, LTE and Wi-Fi and enable split communication in case of low bandwidth availability. Reporty’s application automatically optimizes voice and video communication by identifying the most steady method of communication with the command and control center and continuously monitors the communication for disruptions or weakening signals thus adapting the protocols accordingly, striving for seamless transmission of data to emergency responders.
