More than ticking boxes, compliancetesting reassures landlords and tenants…
BriefOne of our clients, Accent Nene, required compliance testing for domestic inspections ona five yearly basis.
Also on the agenda was a need for loft insulation and cylinder thermostat upgrades.
Accent Nene awarded Foster Property Maintenance (FPM) term contracts, priced at ourcompetitive rates.
DeliveryFPM certifies electrical installations in residents’ homes once they pass necessarycriteria, giving both tenants and landlords reassurance that their properties are safe forhabitation.
The process, carried out by skilled tradesmen with appropriate electrical qualifications, also contributes to a reduction in energy bills for residents.
ChallengesThe nature of this work is such that volumes are susceptible to change, so FPM need tobe prepared to fit in a large quantity at short notice; this could be 700 PIRs in just fivemonths. Thanks to the mobility and strength of our teams, we are able to meet suchrequirements.
FPM summary“These types of compliance works are crucial for the safety of residents and to bringlandlords peace of mind. Consequently, we ensure we offer the most thorough ofservices.”
David Haynes, Director

Residents needs came firstwhen making electricaland remedial works…
BriefThe Eastern Procurement Consortium (EPC) is a body thatnegotiates value for money contracts for its membership.
Through this consortium, Cotman Housing Association placedan order with FPM for the works. As a landlord, it needed tomeet statutory compliance; which requires inspection andtesting of electrical circuits and components a minimum ofevery five years.
DeliveryWith years of experience in electrical compliance, this was atask that FPM was able to deliver in a straightforward manner.
One of our specially trained electrical testing engineerscompleted the works to a high standard, accompanied by anapprentice electrician.
ChallengesWith scattered stock in and around Norwich and someproperties on sheltered housing schemes, there was a need fordelicate and alternative ways of communicating with residents.
With this in mind, FPM gave all residents appointments forwork to minimise inconvenience and provide them withreassurance; assisting both us and them.
FPM summary“Access can be a real challenge for us when working oncompliance programmes of this nature. With timedappointments the programme runs more smoothly, residentsknow when to expect us and overall satisfaction is higher.”
Matt Dillon, Operations Manager
Customer satisfaction “We have been impressed with the way that Foster’s haveprogrammed and managed these essential works, they havekept to their promises and always conducted themselvesprofessionally.”

Getting fired up about gas is what we
do best…
BriefMuir Group is a social landlord
with over 4,700 properties. It works
extensively in the community, actively seeking ways to improve
the areas where people live.
With this outlook in common, it is fitting that Muir Group has
asked Foster Property Maintenance (FPM) to service their heating
requirements on a response maintenance arrangement.
DeliveryOur qualified plumbers provide regular maintenance, complying
with Gas Safe regulations and specially trained tradespeo
ple deal
with gas, oil, air source heat pump appliance and utilities.
Two recently qualified gas plumber apprentices are assisting
our
expert team members as part of their on-going development.
ChallengesWhen winter falls, demands for heating rise and FPM
often have to
provide resources at very short notice. We’ve had plenty of
experience dealing with these issues in the past, so make sure we
keep one-off appliances in stock, so we can
respond quickly. FPM summary“The service we provide is cr
ucial to residents, especially during
colder spells. Our rapid response sets us apart and most
importantly, keeps tenants warm and dry.”
Tim Drake, Contracts Manager
Customer satisfaction“Since the contract with FPM
commenced the Muir Group have
been very impressed. We look forward to building on the excellent
performance and community work undertaken by FPM in the
future.”Mike Proudfoot, Response Maintenance Manager, Muir Group
