Notes
General DescriptionA cranial helmet (See Figure 1) is a plastic protectivehead covering or band that is used to protect the headfrom injury. It is recommended while recovering from abrain injury or other trauma to the head.
The helmet offers full ventilation without compromisinghead coverage. A strong, polyethylene shell covers ashock absorbent foam liner.
ApplicationWhen first sizing, the strap under the chin should beadjusted to fit by pulling the strap through the slidebuckle. For easy on and off, use the snap side. Thehelmet should fit comfortably without being too tight ortoo loose. The front of the helmet should be a littleabove the eyebrow level. Make sure there is at leastone finger space between your chin and the strap.
Cleaning and MaintenanceThe helmet should be washed regularly in warm, soapywater. Harsh chemical cleaners are not recommended;they may damage the vinyl. Periodically check that allhardware, straps and fasteners are in good workingorder. If not, contact your orthotist immediately.
