Hatching egg storage

How to store eggs…… Neither embryo grows nor die.

Keep pointed end downwards.

Slanted at 30-45 ° angle.

Temperature15.6°C (physiological zero).

RH 70-80%.

Turn the eggs daily.

Effects of storage on eggs

1-2 days storage hatchability ↑.

As the storage time ↑ hatchability ↓.

Liquefaction of albumen & yolk.

Increase in pH of albumen & yolk.

cntd… 0.7% chance of linear disease for an extra storage day.

High temperature and low RH ↓ hatchability.

0 hatchability when storage exceeds up to 14 days.

How to reduce effect of storage

Store young maternal flock eggs.

↑1 hr of incubation with ↑ in storage day.

RH 70-80%.

Pre-warm at 22-25°C for 5-18 hr just prior incubation.

cntd… Pre-warm before storage at 37.5°C for 6 hrs.

RH 88% if storage time increased.

Storage temperature 3 days storage, temperature should be 18-21°C.

4-7 days storage temperature should be 15-18°C .

Beyond 7 days 10-12°C.

Points to kept in mind Turn the eggs daily it prevents the yolk touching the shell and injuring of

embryo.
