The Summer Holiday Enrichment Programme

• Through opening schools it aims to:

• Provide good quality meals to children in areas of social deprivation

• Assist the city in meeting its commitment to reducing childhood poverty levels

• Enhance children’s quality of life • Reduce inequalities in health• Reduce inequalities in summer holiday learning

WE OPENED UP SCHOOLS IN THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

The Summer Holiday Enrichment Programme has been shortlisted for the Public Sector Sustain Wales Award demonstrating the ability to deliver on all seven of the Future Generations Act’s Wellbeing Goals

The Programme has gained both local and national traction with:• Public Health and Education Directors• Welsh Government Tackling Poverty Internal Group (+ Food

Poverty Alliance)• Assembly Members• The Brakes Foundation• City of Cardiff Council Cabinet members • Sport Wales

In line with the formal evaluation results from Northumbria University we will be exploring the potential for a regional or national roll out to:

• Assist Wales in its commitment to reducing child poverty

• Enhance children's quality of life• Reduce Inequalities in Health

and learning loss
