About Cans Against Cancer

Cans Against Cancer is an organization whose objective is to raise money to help aid the fight against child hood cancer, and also assist families who battle it daily.

Our Goal Our Goal is to raise 5,000 dollars to fight

the battle against cancer. To complete this goal Cans Against

Cancer needs to recycle 220,000 cans which is 6,666 pounds. With your help, this goal can be easily reached, and surpassed.

How? Cans Against Cancer collects all used or

unused aluminum cans and trades them in at local recycling facilities such as “Schnitzer-Cartersville Scrap Metal Yard,” for cash. Schnitzer-Cartersville has offered 75 cents a pound for our cans. Which is 25 percent higher than the national average for recycled cans, do to our charitable efforts.

Proceeds Proceeds are then donated to charities

such as “The American Childhood Cancer Foundation.” And “The American Cancer Society.”

Cans Against Cancer does use proceeds to also cover mileage cost that build up from collecting and trading cans at the facilities.

Childhood Cancer Each year in the U.S. there are

approximately 13,400 children between the ages of birth and 19 years of age who are diagnosed with cancer. In 1998, about 2500 died of cancer, thus making cancer the most common cause of death by disease for children and adolescents in America.

Aluminum waste Last year, approximately 36 billion aluminum cans

were landfilled. The cans that were thrown away had an estimated scrap value of more than $600 million.

It is estimated that over the past twenty years, we've trashed more than 11 million tons of aluminum beverage cans worth over $12 billion on today's market.

Just by simply saving your used aluminum cans and letting Cans Against Cancer pick them up you can aid the fight against cancer.

Thank you for you time! Save lives. Save earth. Beat Cancer.
