CSCP Purpose
The purpose of this project is to develop an online technical package, the Cancer Screening Change Package (CSCP), to empower health providers, public health practitioners, and community leaders to improve cancer screening.
What is a Change Package?
• Change packages serve as a menu of options from which healthcare professionals in health care settings and public health professionals who partner with them can select tools and resources that improve the processes for cancer screening.
• CSCP expands this traditional model to also include a community-based component that supports community-clinical linkages to increase utilization and access to facilities offering cancer screening.
CSCP Focus
The CSCP is broken down into five focus areas:
Community Initiated Activities
Foundational Policies,
Guidelines, and Practices
Capacity Building for Healthcare
Providers and Clinical Care
Teams
Screening
Follow-up & Referral for Additional
Screening & Treatment
Six cancer screenings that the USPSTF has given an A, B, or C rating:• BRCA-related, breast, cervical, colorectal, lung, and prostate
CSCP Focus on Health Equity
The CSCP takes into consideration social determinants of health by including change concepts and change ideas to improve the processes used to:
• Strengthen community-clinical linkages• Reduce economic barriers• Improve community-initiated activities
Included strategies and actionable ideas are intended to raise awareness, access, and utilization of cancer screening services according to USPSTF recommendations.
