WEDDING PLANS OF EACH INCIDENTS NOTED IN CASE (B)

Question. 1

On April 1 the chairman of the Vestry Committee at the church was left unimpressed by the added donation and sais he would not reduce the notice period from 17 to 10 days.

Answer

There will not be any changes or problem, as this path is of exactly 21 days i.e. the time required for wedding, without crashing any activity.

Question. 2

A call to Guatemala revealed that the potential bridesmaid had several commitments and could not possibly leave the country until April 10

Answer

Normally, the bridesmaid requires 10 days to reach. If she cannot leave before April 10, that means 10 + 10 days extra + 2 days dress fitting + 2 days dress cleaning = 24 days. Even if we crash ‘dress cleaning’ activity (i.e. 1 day crash) still it’ll be 23 days whereas it should be 21 days before rehearsals. So, no use crashing this activity. Therefore, we’ll have to fly the bridesmaid in 2 days, thus incurring $500 cost.

Question. 3

Mother came down with four day flu just as she started on the guest list.

Answer

If her mother came down with flu, the ‘guest list preparation’ activity will require 4 + 4 days extra. That’ll make the total time of the path to be 23 days. The ‘addressing’ activity will have to be crashed to 2 days instead of 4 days incurring $25 cost. Thus, the path time will become 21 days.

Question. 4

The lace and dress materials were lost in transit. Notice of the loss was delivered to the Jackson home early on April 10.

Answer

After April 10, the family has 11 days to complete the remaining activities. If ‘material procuring’ activity be crashed to 5 days, ‘sewing dress’ to 6 days, ‘dress cleaning’ to 1 day, it’ll still be 5+6+1+2 = 14 days. Therefore, the wedding won’t be able to take place by April 22. Eloping is the only option.

Question. 5

There was small fire at the caterer's shop on April 8. It was estimated that the shop would be closed two or three days for repair.

Answer

This path requires 12 days, so a delay of 2-3 days won’t affect the proceedings at all.
