I looked at my local church and thought we would be able to use it as a location to film, we have scripted a funeral scene so this would make great sense. The church isn’t particularly traditional as it doesn’t have pews. This works in our favour because it makes the location more accessible should we want to change the layout for any reason.
The church
We will use my living room as it looks like a typical family home. It will be accessible for filming because it has a unique shape so we will be able to place the camera in places which will make it easier to film and get the whole room in the shot which will set the scene more effectively.
We’re going to film in Rachael’s room for Olives room, the way Rachael's room is decorated matches the characteristics and interests of Olive because the room has an edgy feel and of all the posters and music references mirrors the personality of Olive perfectly. It is an attic room so it will not be the most ideal thing to film in but we will overcome this with equipment we use along with the types of shots and angles we use to film the scenes in her room.
Olive’s Bedroom
We are using Talia’s house as the Hallway and other household rooms (besides the bedroom and bathroom) for olive’s house. Talia’s house is being used as it has a very family feel to it that is cosy and comforting which will contrast with the chill of the morbid story making it more tragic. We will make sure we keep high clarity in our set by taking down any family photos which would spoil the believability of this being the characters house.
Olive’s House – Hallway
The kitchen is another room in Olive’s house that is shown in the film. Her dad is mostly filmed in here prior to him finding out about her death, scenes in here will create tension.
