In May of 2007, Mr. Lennartz joined The Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, as President & CEO.The Charity provides a “Home away from Home” for families of children who are in the hospital diagnosed with Cancer.TheCharity also provides a variety of other services that improve the lives of these families. His charter is to raise $25million

tobuild a newhouse thatwill quadruple the current capacity and anEndowment thatwill covermost of the cost of running a largerorganization.ThenewhousewillbelocatedacrossthestreetfromRadyChildren’sHospitalandshouldbecompletedbytheendof2008.

FromOctober2005throughMarch2007,hewasPresident&CEOoftheSanDiegoAir&SpaceMuseuminBalboaPark/SanDiegowherehewasbroughtintostabilizethefinancialconditionoftheMuseum.In17months,heacquiredaWindTunnelfor$1thatgeneratesinexcessof$400,000ofcashannually,increasedtheSpecialEventsareaoftheMuseumfrom$200,000to$800,000,whichgeneratesanadditional$400,000incash.Healsoincreasedotherrevenueswhileholdingexpenses.TheMuseumhasastaffofabout50andabout250volunteersandisanOfficialAffiliateofTheSmithsonian.TheMuseumiscurrentlyworkingunderasolidprofitablebusinessmodelthatcansustaintheMuseumwellintothefuture.

InDecember,2002,heretiredasPresidentandCEOofCaliforniaLinearDevices,Inc.inCarlsbad,CA.CLDdesigns,manufactures,andsellslinearmotorstoaworldwidebilliondollarmarketplace.PrevioustoCLD,hewasPresidentandCEOofAvcon,Inc.inWoodlandHills,CA.wherethelinearmotorwasdeveloped.HepurchasedthepatentandallrightstothelinearmotorfromAvconinJuly,1998andformedCLD.

Mr. Lennartz was Co-founder, President, & CEO of Sciteq Electronics in San Diego, CA. from 1992-1996. Sciteq grew to a$5millionfrequencysynthesizercompanyinthetelecommunicationsindustryandwassuccessfullysoldin1996toOsicomTechnologies.

In 1991, Mr. Lennartz became President & CEO of Hixson Metal Finishing in Newport Beach, CA to helpa good friend with cancer. The company was leaderless and losing money. He turned the company into aprofitable company with $6.5 million in revenues and turned it back over to the management team to operate for the owner.

In 1977. Mr. Lennartz founded Computer Power Systems Corp. in Carson, CA. CPS was a manufacturer of electricalfilteringanddistributionequipmentforthecomputerroomandgrewfrom0to$30millioninannualrevenuesandwassoldin1984toEmerson Electric Company. He operated the division for Emerson for the next four years and quadrupled the profitability andCPSwas the topperforming acquisition forEmerson. Itwas also the top “BestCostProducer”divisionof all ofEmerson’s 40divisions.

In 1968,Mr. Lennartz founded his first company,Lencor International inAnaheim,CA.Lencor became amajor computer disk packmanufacturerandthecompanygrewto$20millioninannualrevenues.In1977,thecompanysuccessfullymergedintoMemorexCorporation.

In 1963, Mr. Lennartz graduated from the Business School at the University of Colorado with a BS Degree inFinance/MarketingandjoinedtheIBMCorporationinLosAngelesasanAccountManager.HeworkedforIBMinLosAngelesfor5years.

Mr.LennartzwasamemberoftheYoungPresident’sOrganizationfor18yearsandservedforfouryearsonitsInternationalBoardofDirectors.HeiscurrentlyamemberofTheSWWPO49erGroupinSanDiego.In1987,hewasSeniorVicePresidentofNorthAmericapresidingover4,000members.HealsoservesontheCEORoundtableinSanDiego.HewasamemberoftheBoardoftheSanPedro,CA.YMCAandwasafoundingTrusteeandOfficerofthePalosVerdesEducationFoundation,whichwasformedtoraisecapitaltoassistthepublicschooldistrictonthePalosVerdesPeninsula.TheFoundationhassinceraisedover$25millionforthelocalschooldistrict.

Mr. Lennartz was also active in the management of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. He served on the Licensing &MerchandisingCommission,whichnegotiatedthecontractswithABCandthirtyCorporateSponsorsraisingover$700million.Inaddition,hewasaCommissioner-At-LargeandoversawthefourOlympicsportsinLongBeach;Fencing,Volleyball,Archery,andYachting.ThemainobjectiveoftheLosAngelesOlympicOrganizingCommitteewastostageanOlympicGameswhicheverycitizenoftheUnitedStateswouldbeproud,andtomakeaprofitwhichwouldbedistributedtoTrustFundsfortheU.S.OlympicTeam,AmateurAthleticsinSouthernCalifornia,andThePanAmericanGames.Thefinalprofitonthe1984Gameswas$220millionandwasdistributedtothethreecharities.

Mr. Lennartz was a founding member of The School of Entrepreneurship in The Business School at the University ofSouthern California, which was recently ranked the #1 Entrepreneurial School in the nation by Success Magazine. He servedon it’s Advisory Board from 1974 to 1984. In 2000, he taught two Graduate Courses: “Mindset of a CEO/Founder” and“GrowingaBusinessthatDoublesinSizeEveryTwoYears”.HewasalsoamemberoftheDean’sAdvisoryCounciloftheSchoolofBusinessatTheUniversityofColoradoandisactiveasaguestlecturerinbothprograms.HeisalsocurrentlyinvolvedwithTheLeadershipInstituteforEntrepreneurs(LIFE)attheUniversityofSanDiegoandtheCollegeofBusinessDean’sAdvisoryBoardatCalStateSanMarcos.

Mr. Lennartz has served on the Boards of Arcus, Inc., Spectron Development Labs, Christie Electric, Statordyne, Avcon,Formulabs, General Telephone’s Entrepreneurial Advisory Board, and a Review Board of the U.S. Postal Service. He alsoserved as Treasurer and Director of The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation, whose goals are to distribute information, createawareness aboutDystonia, or SpasmodicTorticolis, and raise research funds to find a cure for this dreaded condition. Mr. Lennartzcurrently is an Advisory Board Member of ACOM Computer, and on the Board of Directors of Columbia Yachts and Arbitech.

Mr. Lennartz was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1941 and currently resides at The Crosby in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. with his wifeNancy.Hehasthreemarrieddaughtersandson-in-lawsandfivegrandchildren.Hebelieveshisfamilyishisgreatestaccomplishment.

sweaters.Mybaseballhatshavetheirownshelf.Ihave7pairsofathleticshoes.Thenanother18pairofotherkindsofshoes,manyofwhichIwillneverwearagain.IhaveaRedSoxbobbleheaddollwhoseheadhasbeenbrokenandrepairedtwice.Oneshelfismycollectionshelfofstuff.InmystuffholderIhavemaybe10cheapwatchesandonegoodone.Ikeepmywalletandloosechangeinitatnight.IhaveafewRotarypins,aBrownUniversitypin,aChristmaspinandBishop’sSchool,Disneyland,andPetcoParkpins.Therearealsosomeoddbatteriesthatmayormaynotwork.IhaveaBrowncoffeemugwithabout30writinginstrumentsinit.OnthatsameshelfaregreetingcardsI’vereceivedfrommyfamilyfrommanyyearsback.There’salsoapictureinanacrylicholderofmyoldestsonKyle(now15),mymom,hermomandmerepresentingfourgenerations.There’saSpecialOlympicsplaquefrom1988,aBrownfratbeermugwithmypassportinside,2GBofRAM,postcardsfromJuneMountain,aclearHar-vardBusinessSchoolmugholdingmemorialmasscardsformylategrandmotherandlateaunt,andaTonyGwynnmemorialticketthinginanacrylicholder.Onthefloorisamountedphotoof“TheLakers”whichwasmyothersonNathan’s(now13)basketballteamthatIcoachedin2003.alsoonthefloor,alltogether,aremyBrownandHBSdiplomas(intheiroriginalholders),

myPaulHarrisfellowholderthingy,andmyHBSClubPresidentplaque.WiththemisalsoafolderwithmyacceptancelettertoHBS.Therearerandomcleananddirtyclothesontheflooraswell.ShovedinacorneraresomesemibutprobablynottooimportantdocumentsthatIneverlookatbutkeep.Myclothesbureauchestofdrawersthingisinmycloset.It’sthesameoneIhadgrowingupinNewHavenandHamdenCT.IthasthreedrawersandfitsverynicelyundermyCAClosetsshirtholder.Mylatemomstrippedandpainteditandstrippeditagainandfinisheditwithaclearcoatmanymanyyearsago.Initismyunderwear,socks,andlotsandlotsoft-shirts,manyofwhichareRotaryteesfromprojectImanageorparticipateinsuchasRotariansatWorkDayandNavidadenNoviembre.OnthewallsaremementosfromafamilytriptoNewYorkCity,anoldBrownpennant,acandlethatpastprezJayHatfieldgaveme,anItaliancalendarfrom2003,astickeroftheRedSoxredsoxlogothatImadeatmycompany(MiramarSignWorks&Graphics),aRotaryClubofHamden(CT)flag,andaframed‘declaration’oftheoriginsoftheJesterfamilyname.There’samapshowingthestatsofthebicyclerideupPalomarMountainwhichIdidlastAugustwithfellowLJGTmemberTonyGrillo.

The Rotarian of the Day was a former President of the La Jolla Golden TriangleRotary, (1994-95), the one only Bill Radcliffe. Bill and Sherry are owners of Seal

Furniture, Inc.,with outlets in SanDiego and inRiverside. They enjoy their residence inDelMar,butyouwillfind theminPalmSpringsmostweekends -Billenjoysand isanavidgolfer, sportingahandicap of 13.Bill is known to always bewith our club onFridays, usually arriving quite late, forhepackshiscarbeforeourmeeting, for thedrive toPalmSpringsshortlyafterhisbreakfastwithus.

RomikKesian andKeith Jeffers sharedwith ourmembership theNEEDof two (2) bottles of“good”WINE from EACHmember. Thewine is needed to fill baskets as “auction prizes” for ourCheersforCharity.Oneachbottleyoudonate,pleasehaveyournameandthe“cost”,asEricandRomikrequested. Thanks one and all for your generous donations. AllanGalgut and FrankMcGrathtookamomenttoremindourclubthatmemberscanalsoask“theirfavoriterestaurant”foradonationof adinneror luncheon for four (4), as anauction item for “Cheers”. Beachparties, cocktail dinnerparties, Saturday evening barbeques, offered by club members and their spouses, are fabulouscharity“auctiondonations”!Themoreauctionitems,themoreSUCCESSFULisourCheersforCharity! LouiseAndresinformedtheclubofthisSaturdays(the21st,tomorrow)oftheDistrictassemblyatUCSD.AswellastheDistrictConferenceatTemeculaCreekInn,fromMay14thto17th.TheInnissharingsubstantialdiscountsforovernightguests to theconference. Golf isnearby,alongwithmanywineriesinwhichtoimbibe.Louisealsosharedthecomingbreakfastmenus(andrecopies)thatwewillsooncommenceenjoyingfromourhost,theMarriott.PresidentLindaStouffer“gaveLouisetheHOOK”twoorthreetimes,toNOavail,astheINCOMINGLJGTRCPRESIDENTLouise,refusedtogiveupthemicrophone!!Louisecontinued,andannouncedthatourLJGTRCLaJollaCountryDaySchoolspeechcontestwinner,VictoriaKim,was“stillincompetition”forthespeechfinals.JoiningKim,andstillincompetition,fromLJCountryDay,isJessicaWilson,whocompetedandwonattheRanchoBernardoRotaryspeakingcontest.

The Fine master, Mike Schwarz, fined Bill Busch for Bill’s successfulcoaching of the La Jolla High freshman girls basketball team, which completed their seasonUNDEFEATED!Bill“bragged”toolongandmuch,hence,hisfinewasincreased150%.MikethenfinedAllan Galgut for sitting with and thoroughly enjoying breakfast with his beautiful “harem” ! ChristinaJaeschke introduced thespeakerof theday,hermother,NoraJaeschke, formerboardmemberoftheSanDiegoCountyWaterAuthority.Norasharedwithourclubtheseriousdroughtandwater problems San Diego is experiencing. That this July, the SD CountyWaterAuthority will beannouncingconservationrestrictionsuponSanDiego,theneedtodecreaseourwateruseby45%.Mrs.Jaeschke encouraged us to visit Cyamacca College and enjoy their beautiful gardens, which exhibitmanyplantsthatare“semi-droughtresistant”.TheSDCountyWaterAuthorityhasbookletsprovidinginformation regarding water conservation for you and yourhome - please contact the SD Water Authority for copies. Jan Percival closed the enlightening meeting with a short and brief “pun”.

Refilwe is a non-profit organization in SouthAfricadedicatedtoservingthepoorestofthepoor,

withmultipleinterrelatedprograms.Theirfocusisonoffering basic sustenance, medical care, skillsdevelopmentandchildcare.Theyalsoprovidegrouphomes toAIDS orphans from the community. Theirmain beneficiaries are HIV/AIDS affected and/orinfected persons in the adjoining informalsettlement. Among other things, the organization

maintains a food garden, which teaches people togrow food for theirown families, andprovides foodand income to the gardeners. Currently they haveto carry water for the garden from the river, whichseverely limits theamountof food theycanproduceandpeople theycan train. Thisprojectwill provideguttersonthecommunitycentertocollectrainwater,andpumpsandpipingtogetittothegarden.Itwillalsoprovide sanitary facilities for the community center.
