General Notes:

FOUNDATIONS:1.1 All footings must be carried down to natural undisturbed soil capable of sustaining 200 kPa pressure.

1.2 Soil bearing must be verified by a competant engineer prior to any concrete placement.

1.3 Footings must be a minimum of 1200 mm below the exterior grade for frost protection.

CONCRETE

2.1 All concrete on this project shall have a minimum 28 day compressive strength of 30 MPa.

2.2 All reinforcement is to be grade 400 MPa deformed bars. Details and placement according to the latest R.S.I.C. manual of standard practice.

2.3 Exposed Concrete subjected to freeze/thaw cycles shall contain 6% air entrainment.

2.4 Concrete cover shall be as follows: a) 75mm all locations

2.5 Walls with backfill two sides shall be backfilled and compacted on both sides simultaneously.

2.6 Slabs on grade shall be as per the approved drawings and placed on 150 mm of granular 'A' backfill and a subgrade of 310 mm granular 'B' backfill both layers compacted to 98% proctor density.
