Act 1 Scene 2 & 3

Claudius Gertrude Hamlet Ophelia

Polonius Laertes Horatio Marcellus

Act 1 scene 2

Hamlet is thinking about his father

That we with

wisest sorrow

think on him,

    Together

with

remembrance

of ourselves.

The death of my dear brother has made us all very sad, and everyone in Denmark will remember him for a long time.(pg-3 )

How is it that the clouds

still hang on you?

Not so, my lord; I am too much i' the sun.

Ay, madam,It is common.

Good Hamlet,

cast thy

nighted color

off,

And let thine

eye look like

a friend on

Denmark.

 But, you

must know, your father

lost a father;

Let not thy mother lose her prayers,

I shall in all my best obey you, madam.

Hail to your lordship!

My lord, I came to see your father's funeral.

I pray thee, do not mock me,

fellow-student, I think it was to

see my mother’s wedding.

My lord. I think I saw him yesternight

Saw? who?

My lord, the king your father.

Upon the platform,

‘twixt eleven and twelve, I’ll visit you.

Our duty to

your honor.

Act 1 scene 3Ophelia makes a promise

No

more

but so?

For Hamlet, and the trifling of his favour, A violet in the youth of primy nature,

Tell me the truth: has he told you that he loves you? (pg- 6)

Neither a borrower, nor a lender be;

Most Humbly do I take my leave, my lord.

Laertes leaves…..

What is ’t, Ophelia, he hath said to

you?So please

you, something touching the Lord Hamlet.

Lord Hamlet,Believe so much in

him, that he is young. I shall obey,

my lord.

Ophelia and Polonius leave….

Thank you
