Where Does OIL Come From???

Oil comes from reservoir

rocks and traps.

Earth’s surface. The

PROS/CONS of Oil

CON:Pollutants from

gasoline engines (a bi-product of oil) creates carbon-dioxide that can

make large clouds of smog that rises from

major cities.

PRO:Its very easily transported and

stored.

Concerns of Oil

It’s a non-renewable resource. There’s a lot of environmental

risks in drilling for oil. Only 80 Years left

Is the Industry Addressing these Concerns???

The industry has done extensive experiments

trying to improve skimmers, booms, and dispersants. Booms are

absorbent pads that float on the surface of the water. Skimmers are These are new ways industries are

using to help clean-up Oil Spills.

What's Government Doing???

The main thing government does to help oil industries is provide money to pay for cleanup and new oil tankers.
