Southwest Native Americans

Apaches, Hohokans, Hopis, Navajos, and Pueblos.

Name of Tribes:

Made of cotton that they grew, spun, and wove into cloth using plants and minerals.

Died fabrics using bright colors.

Clothing:

Climate is hot and dry like a desert.Near Pacific Ocean.They also lived close to the

mountains and they live in the desert.

Environment:

Made houses of clay.

Made ditches from the steams to the fields.

Adaptations:

The Southwest tribes honored the earth, sky, and water spirits.

Beliefs/Religion:

Lived in villages, in homes made of clay called adobes.

Housing:

Built irrigation systems to produce corn and other crops.

Hunted and Gathered

Food:

Walked until Spanish introduced horses.

Used waterways
