•Won 7 out of 9 games against men teams

Babe Ruth•Has 714 career homeruns

•Holds the record for the longest complete game victory in World Series history

•Led the American League in home runs 12 times (1918-1921, 1923, 1924, 1926-1931)

Water-skiing is Born•Ralph Samuelson of Minnesota invented waterskiing in 1922

•First water-skis were made out of pinewood boards with curved tips

Big Bill•William "Big Bill" Tatem Tilden II was the first American to win a Wimbledon title in 1920

•Also won it in 1921 and 1930

•Was crowned U.S. Champion on seven occasions

Johnny Weissmuller Swims•He swam 100 meters 58.6 in 1922

•Won three gold medals at the 1924 Olympics, and two gold medals at the 1928 Olympics

•In his career, he has 52 U.S. titles and 28 world distance records

Basketball•Was considered a second sport to hockey and baseball

•Used a leather laced ball similar to how a football is laced

•Was invented by a Canadian named James Naismith in Springfield Massachusetts
