Be Informed

• Emergency Sheltering– In Place

• Close doors & windows• Turn off A/C or heat• Monitor Radio and/or TV

– Disaster Shelters• Blankets – Special sleeping items• Medicines• Important documents• Stuff to entertain children• Service Animals• Special Dietary Needs

Be Informed

• Evacuation– Community Evacuation Map– Local Map– Get familiar with different evacuation routes– Pre-pack vehicle– Leave early– Be patient– Follow instructions from Law Enforcement

• Know your Neighbors

Make a Plan

• Plan for the Hazards in your Community• Family Meeting Locations• Family Communications Plan– Program Phones– Family Phone Numbers Wallet Card– Out of Area Contact

Build a Kit

• Water– One gallon a day per person

• Food– At least 3 days (highly recommend 7 day supply)

• Manual Can Opener• Battery Powered Radio• Flashlight (extra batteries)• Whistle• Dust Mask
