Adding a Client

Your first step is to add a new client

to the bottom

Click “Create & Send Email”

Receiving a File

Always close QuickBooks before sending or receiving

Click “Receive”

The file(s) that are ready to be received will be listed in the Current Queued Files window

Locating the File

Click on the plus sign next to the

client

Unrestricted Folder - if a client sends a file and does NOT restrict themselves from

inputting new data, the file is downloaded into the unrestricted folder

Do not return a file in the unrestricted folder as it will

overwrite the client’s current file and they will lose any new input

When you return the file it will overwrite the client’s current

QuickBooks file

Only return files from the restricted folder

Click on the plus sign next to the Restricted folder

Right click on the file

Left click on “Open Location”

The folder that appears will contain the file that

you downloaded

Returning the File

Always close QuickBooks before sending or receiving

Right click on the file

Left click on “Send to Client”

Click “Yes”

Client Backups

If your clients are backing up their QuickBooks you can view their backup files at any time

client

Here you can see exactly at what time your client

last backed up their QuickBooks file

Right click on the backup file you want to review

Left click on “View”

The folder that appears will contain the backup file for

you to view
