Data quality proceduresDuring data collection:• Conduct a data inventory of all available data sources for the list of indicators to

be included in the DB and ensure reliable, recongnised sources and archive source documents for ready reference

• Collect recent data to report on MDG indicators• Collect data for multiple years to produce time series• Collect data for all possible geographical areas and subgroups

During data entry:• Enter metadata for each users’ defined indicators & sources• Sources’ names to follow the DI 5.0 format• Verify data values, time periods & sources against original sources• Do not include formulas in data values in spreadsheets• Verify area ids with their relevant area names and avoid duplication/mismatch• Check consistency of data values within time series, geographical areas and

subgroups)• Check consistency of source names with DI standards/within the same source to

avoid duplication and spell checking
