The race committeedecided to try a course inside the bay forprotection. On the last day Brostcd had thechampionship in his po .ket, bur nervesplayed ;t role ill the seventh race. He hada bad start, completing the flrst trianglein 3:1rd place, while Gancedo was Om.Emotions were red hot during the wholerace as the Dane, dcmonstranng hissailing abilities. gained place after place,finishing in eleventh, and winning the

title of Eu rpe.rn Champion. The racewas won I y Gauccdo , followed byNicminen ,·i!ldillg·Larsen of Norway.Thorsell and Peterson.
