Yamaha takes V MAX SHO® high-performance capabilities to the 150-horsepower segment with the introduction of the new V MAX SHO® 150, a four-stroke outboard with the kind of torque curve and hole shot that bass boaters have come to expect from a machine called “V MAX SHO.®”
Whether you're running a bass boat, flats boat or other performance hull, the V MAX SHO® 150 truly delivers the performance you have come to expect from a Yamaha V MAX SHO® while providing all the benefits associated with four-stroke power, including clean, quiet operation and great fuel efficiency.
Two-STroke Performance Great Hole Shot, acceleration and Top Speed – The new V MAX SHO® 150 uses Yamaha's Variable Camshaft Timing System (VCT) for hole shot and acceleration that is noticeably quicker than that of the F150 and equal to that of the two-stroke VZ 150 HPDI.
four-STroke BenefiTS Smooth – The 2.8-liter, four-cylinder powerhead employs double-overhead cams, four valves per cylinder and counterbalance shafts for extra smooth performance.
fuel efficient – The four-stroke V MAX SHO® 150 offers fuel consumption that is 30 to 40 percent better than that of traditional carbureted two strokes.
extra Space – Because it's a four-stroke, there's no need for an external oil tank with the V MAX SHO® 150. That's a savings of approximately 23 pounds – that means less weight and more storage room in the boat for tackle and other items.
easy rigging – The new four-stroke V MAX SHO® 150 has mechanical control for easy, convenient rigging with most bass, bay and flats boats; with a choice of analog, 6Y5 digital or Command Link® gauges.

At 480 pounds,* the four-stroke V MAX SHO®150 weighs just 12 pounds more than Yamaha's two-stroke VZ150. That, alone, is amazing. Once you consider the weight of the oil tank, the V MAX SHO®150 weighs about the same on the boat as the VZ150. What's more, not having an oil tank frees up space in the boat.

Yamaha’s Variable Camshaft Timing system advances and retards the angle of the intake camshaft to dramatically increase power and throttle response in the low- and mid-rpm ranges. This feature helps the four-stroke V MAX SHO® 150 generate the kind of performance that bass boaters expect from traditional two-stroke outboards.

F200F_Long intake manifold
Air entering the engine block of the V MAX SHO® 150 outboard is routed through a single electronically-controlled throttle valve. It works in concert with a long-track intake system and a resonator to improve throttle response. Precision multi-point fuel injection completes the package for delivering the optimum power and fuel efficiency.

Reliability & Durability
The V MAX SHO® 150 features a proven cowling drain system designed to efficiently drain away any water that enters the cowling during normal engine operation. Incoming air is routed through a labyrinth of passages that trap and drain water before it enters the engine’s intake. Corrosion resistance is enhanced with Yamaha's exclusive YDC 30 aluminum alloy, ACP 221 paint process and electro-deposited powerhead paint process to further enhance reliability. The new Yamaha V MAX SHO® 150 has a heritage of reliability. Its family tree includes the reliable Yamaha F150.

The Yamaha V MAX SHO® 150 is designed to use cable-operated controls, such as the Yamaha 6X3 flush side-mount control.

Today's boats need more charging power to accommodate the wide array of on-board electronic devices. That's why the V MAX SHO® 150 has an 11 percent increase in charg-ing power compared to the VZ150. The alternator provides a total of 50 amps of output.
