THESIS OBJETIVES

RESEARCH PLAN

UNIVERSIDADE DE VIGO

The main objective is to improve the teaching process through

the data generated by the interaction of the students with the

educational platforms in the different classes that they attend, In

this way, it will be possible to suggest training activities and their

sequencing and to improve the planning of the evaluation tests and

their intercalation with the training activities.

In order to achieve the main objective, an in depth study of the

management of large amounts of information (Big Data), learning

techniques, algorithms implemented for similar problems and the

appropriate tools for statistical analysis.

Study of the use of the students’ platform in different courses and

the results obtained by them when using the educational

technology.

Collect and process the data to obtain only the needed information

for the research by filtering it through powerful tools.

Make a comparison of the data obtained from several e-learning

platforms of universities in Central America and Europe, Analyzing

the impact of the different results.

Identify the best techniques of the use of the platform

to achieve greater success in higher education and

the use of educational technology.

Design techniques, applications model or algorithms based in

the platforms by through experimentation to detect atypical

values and analyze the student interaction to improve

e-learning education.

There will be an in-depth study of literature or specialized

literature on research-related issues (educational data

mining, e-learning, learning processes, etc.) to assess

how similar problems can be addressed using various

techniques and tools.

Design scientific information through articles and conferences, it will be conduct a

research stay in a important center related whit the investigation, then will prepare

the necessary documents for the thesis presentation.

The platforms of Catholic university of Honduras will be analyzed to obtain the

necessary Information of the research, Once the data is grouped, it will be analyzed

through the classical statistics techniques and be able to obtain the expected results.

The e-learning and b-learning platforms are of vital

importance in higher education worldwide as they

contribute to providing solutions that help the

development of students.

Considering that in the classroom, teachers handle

many students, the analysis of information will help

them understand the usefulness of using platforms as a

technological learning resource, how students interact

with them and their study habits.

Once the students' interaction and study habits are

known, the research will allow teachers to reformulate

their teaching planning to improve their academic

activities in the different classes.

The study of the planning of a high volume of courses

will give the opportunity to compare this planning with

the academic results of the students, this will generate

the power to recommend to teachers new ways of

planning the subjects and their evaluations.
