Blackwood Grange Challenge 2018

Blackwood Golf Club won the Southern Challenge Shield in 2018. A great achievement.

The team members were Prue Frazer, Dianne Cottrell, Jane Linde (manager), Elaine Pitwood, Trish White and Marg Rawlinson. A Flagstaff Hill member is holding the shield at the presentation ceremony at Flagstaff Hill.

Women’s Club Foursomes was played in very windy and wet weather. (Opposite) Angela Masters and Rosemary Underwood were the A Grade foursomes winners and the runners up were Lorry Brown and Yvonne Wade.(Bottom left) Jill Behn and Brenda Mitchell were the B Grade winners and they played Kaye Lewis and Val Lough.(Bottom right) Denise Smalley and Wendy Jackson were the C Grade winners and they played against Jan Ledo and Julie Wagner.

Jayne Baulderstone (Captain of Aston Hills) was presented with the Woodbark trophy by Wendy Turner (Captain of Blackwood.22

Blackwood Ladies have an annual game against Mt Barker Golf Club which is now known as Aston Hills Golf Club. In 2018 the Blackwood Ladies played at Aston Hills but were not able to retain the trophy that year.Blackwood Ladies took part in the Metropolitan Southern Zone competition which is a 36 hole competition with one round played at Blackwood Golf Club and another at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club.Blackwood had an exceptional result in that the club trophy was brought home, along with all three A, B and C Grade Salvers.(Bottom left) Wendy Turner holds the club trophy with Marg Rawlinson who won the C Grade salver.(Bottom right) Pam Withers winning A Grade salver with Gundi Holzer as runner up.
