Please Note ! Assembly of the hwr component gripper is made by means of the required nuts, screws and bolts. This assembly methods allows subsequent modification and readjustment at any time without damage.
For safe functioning in continuous operation, please observe the tightening torque and load values listed below. Exceeding the load limits or insufficient tightening of the screw fasteners may result in displacement of the components.
Tightening torque values:

Drill-hole in the clamps:All clamps are manufactured with two holes d=6mm. One of the holes can be used to drill a hole into the clamped tube. This additional hole will be used for controlling purposes during long-time use and also to help readjusting the gripper in case of collision.

Assembly of the gripper frameIf possible, a gripper frame should be constructed with an H-shaped structure serving as the base. To build such a structure 2 profile tubes, for example, are screwed onto 2 cross struts to make a sturdy H-shaped basic frame. For smaller grippers, 1 single profile pipe (80 x 50 mm, if possible) can also be used as a component for the central frame.
Assembly of an H-shaped frame:1. Screw two centering bolts into the flange plates of the cross struts
(tightening torque 100Nm = 73.8 ft.Ibs.)
2. Guide the centering bolts through the two exterior profile pipes and fasten them with a nut (tightening torque 60Nm = 44.3 ft.Ibs.)
3. If required, the frame can now be expanded by adding additional profile pipes or angle elements.
4. After completed assembly, tighten all screwed connections, observing the indicated fastening torque (60 / 100Nm = 44.3 / 73.8 ft.Ibs).
Advice:All screwed connections are to be secured with Tuflok or Loctite 243 while being assembled!!!

Assembly of frames from cut profile pipes For reasons of stability, less weight and less cost it is recommended to construct the frame as described on pages 3.1 and 3.2. Should this be impossible, it is optional to construct the frame with connection plates as described below.
1. Screw 4 centering bolts onto the connection plate FRS-WK 05 (tightening torque 70Nm = 51.6 ft.Ibs.)
2. Subsequently, guide the centering bolts through both profile pipes, add reinforcement plate FRS-WK 06 (absolutely required !!) and fasten with 4 nuts (tightening torque 100Nm = 73.8 ft.Ibs.).
3. If required, the frame can be enlarged by additional profile pipes or angle elements.4. After completed assembly, tighten all screwed connections, observing the indicated fastening
torque (70 / 100 Nm = 51.6 / 73.8 ft.Ibs.).
Advice:All screwed connections are to be secured with Tuflok or Loctite 243 while being assembled!!!

Assembly plates1. For assembly of pneumatic and electric components hwr offers assembly plates (aluminum 4mm)
(catalog page H5.1). If necessary the rectangular plates can be customized. 2. The assembly plates are to be attached to the profile pipe with fastening bolts and nuts. Make sure
the screw head touches the assembly plate.3. After completed assembly, tighten all screwed connections observing the indicated fastening
torque (60 Nm).
Assembly brackets and cable ductsFor running electrical wires hwr offers the following standards:1. Assembly brackets: If required, assembly brackets are fixed onto the profile pipes using clips in
the drill holes of the profile pipes. 3 sizes are available (catalog page C4.3). Electrical wires are simply guided through the eyelets and bundled with tie-ribs.
2. Cable ducts: If required, cable ducts are fixed onto the profile pipes using clips in the drill holes of the profile pipes. The clips serve as spacers for panning screws and nuts. Several sizes are available (catalog page H6.1).
Advice:All screwed connections are to be secured with Tuflok or Loctite 243 while being assembled!!!

Assembly of a shim interface1. Guide a torsion-protected stand pipe through the profile and fasten by means of a nut.2. Mount a T-Connector (d=30mm).3. Mount a second T-Connector (d=30mm).4. Mount holder for adjustment angle (e.g. FRS 30-AWHV 01-B).5. Mount a suitable adjustment angle (e.g. FRS-AW 01-B) and end effector carrier (e.g. FRS-HSPAW

Assembly of a clamping device with profile pieces1. To render the whole clamping device adjustable, select an adjustable fixture (e.g. FRS-HSPAW
01-B) and mount it according to the instructions on page B5.3.2. The holder FRS-KHV 11-1-B, for example, serving as profile piece carrier is mounted onto the
clamping device. 3. The pressure piece can either be mounted directly onto the clamp strap of the clamping device (as
shown in the example below) or by using a suitable in-between layer. Mount all components with the corresponding shims packages.
4. After completed assembly adjust all components and tighten all screwed connections, observing the indicated fastening torque.
PLEASE NOTE !!!For most applications, hwr offers the required basic components in the catalog. In chapter 7 (pages G5.1 - 5.4) the use of those components is described for several clamping devices and purposes. If possible use those components as they are stock items and can be delivered quickly.
