ADDENDUM #1 Dated May 1, 2012 Prepared by Cambridge Construction Management, Inc. Please add the following amendments: MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE
Attached are minutes of the mandatory pre-bid conference held on April 24, 2012 at 10:00 am.
BID PROPOSAL FORM Revised bid proposal form to include the addition of Alternate Proposal No. 1. Failure to include a bid amount for this alternate will result in bid rejection.
BIDDER QUESTIONS WITH RESPONSES
1. Plans call for the removal of metal wall panels to be reused by Ramapo College. Are the panels to be left on the second floor for removal from the space by the College? RESPONSE: The College no longer needs the metal panel partitions. The Contractor is to remove all panels from the construction site and dispose of them.
2. Note of Drawing A5-1 says that smart boards are to be furnished and installed by A/V contractor. Please confirm A/V contractor will be hired by the College. RESPONSE: Yes, the College will hire the A/V contractor.
3. Drawing PVD-1 notes that the Contractor is to furnish floor boxes and empty conduit for A/V contractor. It references A/V drawings for specifications. Do A/V drawings exist? RESPONSE: Separate A/V drawings do not exist. Install floor boxes as noted on drawing PVD-1. All floor boxes shall be poke thru type on detailed on Drawing E-1
4. What is the deck height? RESPONSE: The deck is highest in the center of the building then tapering off to both sides. Height to bottom of deck in center is 13 feet, outside edge of building is 12’-7 1/2”. The bar joists are 36”.
ADDITIONAL BID REQUIREMENTS/CLARIFICATIONS
1. The Contractor must provide a full time non-working field superintendent while work is being performed onsite. Working superintendents will not be accepted.
2. Parking will not be permitted next to the building. Parking will be allowed in the Mackin/Bishoff Halls parking lot.
3. Dumpsters cannot be placed within 15’ of the building at any time. Contractor shall make provisions in their bid for costs related to equipment or scaffolding for dumpster chutes because of this fire code requirement.
4. Ramapo College will furnish and install A/V equipment. 5. Ramapo College will perform the data/telecommunications scope of work. This contract shall
include all empty boxes, fittings, empty conduit, and pull strings as required for all data/telecommunication outlets noted on the drawings.

2. Pre-Bid Conference a. Mandatory – Bids will only be opened from firms listed on sign-in sheet. Bids
submitted by firms that did not attend the pre-bid conference will be returned unopened.
b. Minutes – Minutes of this meeting will be distributed in Addendum #1.
3. Bidder Qualifications a. General Contractor and all subcontractors must have a current Public Works
Contractor Registration certificate. The certificates of the GC and prime subcontractors must be submitted with bid proposal.
b. Bid bond or certified check in the amount of 10% of the submitted bid amount. c. Consent of surety for 100% performance and 100% payment bond. d. Insurance coverage as specified in the general conditions.

8. General Comments
a. The “or equal” process outlined in the bid documents is to occur prior to the submission of bids. Requests will not be accepted after contract award. Should there be no “or equal” requests made during the bid phase, all materials and equipment will only be approved by manufacturers listed in the Contract Documents.
b. The Contractor is to assume the building will be clear of all hazardous materials prior to commencement of work.
c. The bidders were instructed to contact Dan Connelly of Cambridge Construction Management to schedule any additional site visits to become familiar with the existing conditions.
9. Special Conditions
a. Contractor is to protect all finishes and existing furniture and equipment. b. Dumpsters cannot be placed within 15 of building due to fire code. c. Parking will not be permitted next to the building at anytime. Parking will be provided
