Life pulsating still, when air moves in and out

Others make enquiries anxious of your health

Life gone, when body falls down dead and inert’

Even your wife, dear, fears to be near!

Baalah Taavat - so long as one is in his childhood,

Kreedaa - (towards play) to play,

Aasaktah - (one is) attached,

Tarunah Taavat - a youth (so long as one is in youth),

Tarunee - towards young women (towards passion),

Saktah - (one is) attached,

Vriddhah Taavat - so long as one is old (an old man),

Chintaa - towards anxiety, Aasaktah - (one is) attached,

Pare - to the Supreme, Brahmani - Brahman,

Kah Api - any one (alas),

Kopi na - no one is (seen), Saktah - attached.

A child thinks naught of aught, but of it’s play,

A lad is engrossed in full in a youthful lass’

The old with a glory and a gloom both past, has much to worry

Alas no one I free to think of Him the Supreme
