Best EDM albums of all time

Poll on Rolling Stone magazine

Deadmau5 is known for both his mellow music and upbeat music. His tracks are played in clubs and parties, and like most EDM artists he wears a helmet/mask, maybe to show that the music is more important or to give himself a memorable appearance and symbol (the mouse head)

Daft Punk are considered the most famous and mainstream EDM artists of all time. Like Deadmau5 they always wear LED helmets, as both an appearance enhancer and comment on the importance of their music

The Digweed duo are known for their mellow music that is both soothing and calming. The album art here not only conveys the style of their music but also their values. One could say that their music is an experience not only for them, but also their audience. A journey of discovery. They were revered because their music took the listener on a journey.

The Dewaele brothers were very open and vocal in their opinion that the EDM genre was become convoluted and mainstream. This album art was actually a cleverly presented little comment that, EDM needed to get back to its underground and hidden roots, rather then appeal to the mainstream and lose its shocking edge.

EDM music is always risky and comments on political/religious issues. Here, Justice were very audacious in saying that they were the new leaders of the EDM genre. As a result, this album gained a lot of publicity as listeners wanted to see if the album was worth all the hype.

This is another album cover that gives you an idea what sort of mood one should be in when listening to the music featured on the album. It also a very interesting cover, that would incite some listener interest.

Here, Craig is using direct-mode-of-address to try and convey the type of music on the album. However, Craig had become very popular for his remixes and just his name and face would convince some customers to buy.

The Avalanches motif is to use 1000s of samples. The album art conveys this, by sending the message that all artists are all in the same boat. Not only this but, it is a very artistic cover that would not be amiss in a collectors collection.

This is a very minimalistic piece of cover art, which strangely is in huge contrast to the style of music they produce (metallic and thumping). One could say this is a political comment or comment on the lyrics, and about how there is meaning to what ‘The Chemical Brothers’ were singing.

This really does show Daft Punks popularity; nearly all their new album art just features their name as they know that that is the only thing they need to sell their music. Daft Punk are the most well known EDM artists of all time.
