AWARENESS PROGRAMME TO THE FARMERS AT SURAT, GUJARAT
An Awareness Programme was conducted by the Coastal Aquaculture
Authority (CAA) for 150 nos. comprising of farmers and fisheries officials
engaged in coastal aquaculture activities in Gujarat at Surat, Gujarat on 14th
March, 2018. The programme was coordinated by the Department of Fisheries,
Gujarat. The need & process of Registration of coastal aquaculture farms, new
amendments of CAA guidelines, Biosecurity measures to be followed by farms,
Responsible use of Drugs and Chemicals and Good Aquaculture Practices
(GAPs) in shrimp farming were the main highlights of the awareness
programme. Handouts on important themes such as Guidelines on shrimp
farming and Profile of Coastal Aquaculture Authority were also distributed.
