What is VR? “Virtual reality (VR) refers to computer-generated environments that simulate the physical presence of people and/or objects and realisticsensory experiences. At a basic level, this technology takes the form of 3D images that users interact with and manipulate via a computer interface.”

understanding of and connection to the library space

● 3 stations● 15 minutes to explore at each station● As you explore, start thinking about ways you could use

these technologies to enhance your lessons (including the lessons you’ve taught in the past)

● When possible, please take your smart phone/laptop with you to each station.

Station One: HP Reveal

We’ll explore augmented reality and how we can turn physical objects into interactive learning experiences.

Station Two: Discovery VR & The New York Times VR

We’ll use mobile phones, VR goggles, and Google cardboard to explore ready-to-use 360° videos.

Important:

When using VR goggles/Google cardboard, be sure to remain seated for safety purposes.

Station Three: Google Tour Creator

We’ll use this new tool to explore and create 360° virtual tours.
