Recommended Implementation-High School

• 3-year process-JHHS – Yr 1—Grades 9 &10 – Yr 2—Grades 9-11 – Yr 3—Grades 9-12

• 4-year process-other HS– Yr 1—Grade 9 – Yr 2—Grades 9-10 – Yr 3—Grades 9-11 – Yr 4—Grades 9-12

• For other HS– Students who had previously attended a particular HS under the

old boundaries would continue at their original HS. – New 9th graders in 2010 in the new attendance boundary would

attend HS according to the new boundary

– One year only sibling option, if requested, for siblings of students completing their last year at the school. Sibling must move to new school the following year

Recommended Implementation-Middle and Elementary School

• Middle recommended implementation – Existing 6th graders (going into 7th) attending a MS have option of staying at

current middle or moving to school of new attendance area– Existing 7th graders (going into 8th) stay at previous site for their last year– One year only sibling option, if requested, for siblings of students completing

their last year at the school. Sibling must move to new school the following year

• Elementary recommended implementation (same as new school openings for Binks and Beech Avenue)

– If requested, students who will be either 5th or 6th graders (depending on if the school is a K-5 or K-6) can complete their last year at their existing school

– One year only sibling option, if requested, for siblings of students completing their last year at the school. Sibling must move to new school the following year

• For all schools: Application process for intradistrict transfer based on consideration of hardship circumstances on a limited, case-by-case and space available basis

• Re-review boundaries for ES #29 and surrounding schools prior to ES #29 opening for possible minor changes (due to current uncertainty of new housing development phasing and neighborhood population fluctuations)
