similarities

• - common language, shared heroes, Olympic Games, same gods and beliefs

• Athens had democracy, trade, education for boys, encouraged art and literature, philosophy flourished, rules passed by assembly, women were clearly inferior

• Sparta had 2 kings, militarism, trade and travel not allowed, women obeyed men but were allowed to own property, girls trained to be mothers of soldiers

• What Sparta and Athens rely on

• They rely on there trade for there economy.

• What was there life like?

• Life in Sparta was very different than from life in Athens. Sparta was an oligarchy meaning that it was only run by a few people.

• Tarnishing hopes on other Spartans to serve in the government

• In ancient Athens, people didn't really go through any physical labor since it was more of a time in peace. They were skilled in other areas such as education.
