requirements

AT LEAST 1,000 HOURS

PILOT-IN-COMMAND

TIME IN JET AIRCRAFT.

A BACHELOR’S DEGREE FROM AN

ACCREDITED INSTITUTION IN

ENGINEERING, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE,

PHYSICAL SCIENCE, OR

MATHEMATICS

A DISTANT

VISUAL ACUITY

OF 20/100 OR

BETTER

Blood pressure at about 140/90 in a sitting position

Height between 64 and 76 inches

TRAINING

• Walking in water tanks

• Get used to spacesuit

• Learn to eat special food

Spacesuit

Gloves: contains heating units

Space helmet
