Aims

• Enhance the professional development for English teachers working with NCS students; and

•Improve literacy levels of students in reading and writing through catering to learner diversity

ObjectivesTo work closely with the school personnel indeveloping a School-based Curriculum which focuson:

• Textbook adaptation

• Teaching of reading through the five strategies

• Teaching writing through shared writing andprocess writing

• Using drama to enhance teaching and learning

Mode of Collaboration with Seed schools

• Teacher Secondment – one secondee per year, three LETs over three years

• Option of no Secondment – the school will spare a co-ordinator for taking up the adaptation task with flexible deployment during the week.

• Environment – storage for Big Books and Guided Readers and notice board for display of students’ work

Schedule timetabled co-planning meetings for at least an hour per week on a regular basis

Allow teachers to attend CPD, cluster and school-based PD workshops
