Why are we here?• We can be more effective in Discipling

as instructed in God’s Word.• Arrow Heights’ numbers have plateaued

in recent years and began to decline in some areas.

• We are good at most things, but we must strive to be great, which requires change.

What does all this mean?• We need a straight-forward

and strategic process that moves people through the stages of spiritual growth.

Process Evaluation Team

• Assembled to evaluate from the ground up how we “do” church– Made up of a cross section of staff and people

groups.– Develop a mission statement that will be

applied at every level of the organization.– Design a process that will accomplish the

mission and will be applied at every level of the organization.

Mission Statement of ARROW HEIGHTS

• Our mission is to develop authentic disciples who Know, Love and Share Jesus Christ.

LIVE LIFE IN 3D.

• The strategy is to create environments that Draw, Develop and Disperse.

The ProcessCreate environments that Draw, Develop, and Disperse.

DRAW(Primary Entry Point)

• Weekly Worship– Adult Worship– Children's Funday School– Youth Worship

DEVELOP (Developing Authentic Disciples)

• Environments to build relationships with God and others.– Adult Small Groups– Youth Sunday School– Children’s Funday School

• Requires leadership training so the elements of Know, Love and Share are being met.

DEVELOP (Developing Authentic Disciples)

• Know– Getting to know God and others.– New group can form at any time.– New groups will peer off of the Starting Point

classes.– 2-4 times a year will provide an avenue for

people to know our community groups.

DISPERSE(Acts 1:8 – Eph 4:10-12)

• Serving Christ through personal involvement in ministries.

How do you proceed from Draw to Develop to Disperse?

• Movement• Alignment• Focus

MOVEMENT• Movement – Sequential steps in the

process that cause people to move to greater levels of commitment.– Think Steps (process), not programs (events)– Always asking “What’s Next”

Movement takes place for each member of the

family.

Heather is drawn to attend a worship

service through the invitation of a friend.

Heather and her husband Aaron begin

attending a Starting Point Class to discover

more about the basic claims of Christianity.

After attending a worship service they

are invited to Discovery Class 101 to find out

more about AHBC and membership.

Heather and Aaron decide to join a

LifeGroup where the community of

believers helps them develop into authentic

disciples.

Aaron and Heather attend Discovery Class

201 to learn Spiritual Disciplines that will

help them develop as disciples.

Heather connected with a mentor to help

her through the discipleship process.

Heather attends Discovery Class 301 and finds that she has been

spiritually gifted with the gifts of teaching,

administration and leadership.

Heather is connected with the Student Minister to begin

serving as an apprentice teacher for a Student Small Group.

After completing and apprenticeship period

Heather is dispersed to begin serving on her own as a small group

leader.
