Why this project ?

Cloud computing offers a new economic model for ICTs, it also

offers IT resources (hardware and software) modularity, with

availability in terms of volume and time according to the

customer’s requirements and its requests.

Cloud computing will create nearly 14 million new jobs globally by

2015 – including over two million in Europe, Middle East and

Africa, according to an IDC report*

Mobile data traffic in MENA region will be multiplied by 18 to

arrive at 10.8 Exabyte per month in 2016**.

Next Steps

Select 2 SMEs from each Arab country to be part of the Arab Cloud pilot project at no cost.

Perform the needed coordination between those SMEs and the Cloud provider.

Learning from the pilot experience to evaluate the impact of Regional Cloud compared to Local and Global Cloud.

Implement a new pilot for organization like universities, regulators, etc.
