This is an example of the actual Underdog. Although he is cute, he may not be considered to be an actual underdog.

An actual ‘underdog’• An underdog is one that

is against the odds and unexpected to win.

• In Rocky I, Rocky Balboa is a no-name fighter going up against the heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed. Rocky is an example of an underdog because he is expected to lose the fight.

Double

Double means twice, and that would explain how a double contributes to a split personality – the other side of an individual (2 sides).

Dr. Jerkyll and Mr. Hyde is an example of a double.

Helping animals

Animals that assist the character(s) in the story, and sometimes prove their worth with useful information or useful help.

The mice in Cinderella help her with her day to day tasks.

The Sacrificial Redeemer

The sacrificial redeemer is a character that is willing to go to the end for what he/she believes in.

Mulan is an example of a sacrificial redeemer as she puts her life on the line because she doesn’t want her father to go into war.
