I would like to congratulate Amanda Thurman as our Team Member of the Year for 2018! She is extremely versatile. She is aware of the care needs of every resident in our community. Many times you see her stopping what she is doing to assist a resident or team member, and she does this

in every single hallway of the community. She knows every resident by name, and often times, their family and friends. Amanda is very outgoing and interacts with every team member and resident in the building. She’s familiar with team members in each department at Hillcrest Shadow Lake as well as at the Hillcrest Health Services Home Office. She always comes to work with a positive attitude. Amanda will befriend all new team members and make them feel welcome. She enjoys showing them “the tricks of the trade.” Thank you for everything you do, Amanda! Cold and flu season is still present. Please remember the importance of hand washing to help stop the spread of illnesses. Also, if you are not feeling well, please wait to visit your loved one until you are feeling better. Are You on the List?

Residents in Action This month we will have many socials and celebrations. We have St. Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras and the first day of spring. I know we are looking forward to spring! We will be talking about what plants and flowers we will be planting this spring. We have some entertainers coming who are crowd favorites here at Hillcrest Shadow Lake. On the 1st Aaron Shoemaker will be here at 10 a.m., and on the 18th we will have Rockin’ Woody with Merrymakers at 10 a.m. In addition to the other celebrations this month, we will also be celebrating all of the birthdays in March on the 27th. March 18, 10 a.m. Rockin’ Woody (Tom Strohmyer) will be here to entertain us. He plays multiple instruments,

including piano, guitar, trumpet, sax and harmonica, and loves to get the crowd involved.

Sometimes he’ll even mix in a little juggling or magic, too. Needless to say, there won’t be a

dull moment!
