HEREFORD CITY COMMUNITY LED PLAN

The City Council has installed litter bins, dog mess bins, notice boards

and benches where the local community has asked for them.

We run a programme of free events, the biggest of which is Historical Hereford Day. That is

happening this year on July 13th. As well as that we shall have Tropical Hereford in the summer,

and we run events for children during the school holidays and half terms. We continue to provide the Christmas Lights and the Switch On

with musicians and dancers. Just in case you didn’t hear me the first time, they are all free.

The City Council has started offering grants to help set up new community groups, not just

to established groups who are already organised. In several wards we have seen new

groups starting up and working with us to deliver real change and improvement.

Moving forward, Hereford City Council will continue to work with other service providers such as Herefordshire Council and the police,

on issues like, road safety, regeneration, cycleways, transport, road maintenance and drug and alcohol abuse to name just a few.

Hereford City Council will continue working in partnership with community groups, both to assist with support and to provide funding to deliver projects to improve community open spaces, allotments and community buildings

and develop community gardens.

More information and advice can be gained by referring to our City Council website or making

direct contact with Tracy Morriss as Community Development Officer or more

locally through your respective Ward Councillor.
