TRANSCRIPT

is a British sculptor, photographer andenvironmentalist living in Scotlandwho produces site-specific sculptureand land art situated in natural andurban settings. His art involves theuse of natural and found objects, tocreate both temporary andpermanent sculptures which draw outthe character of their environment

For his ephemeral works, Goldsworthyoften uses only his bare hands, teeth, and found tools to prepareand arrange the materials. No glue,no nails, no chainsaws, nothumbtacks.

Andy Goldsworthy

Photography plays a crucial role in his art due to its often ephemeral and transientstate. According to Goldsworthy, "Each work grows, stays, decays – integralparts of a cycle which the photograph shows at its heights, marking themoment when the work is most alive. There is an intensity about a work atits peak that I hope is expressed in the image. Process and decay areimplicit.”

The images you just saw will be uploaded onthe website so make sure to check itBEFORE the 18th to refresh yourmemory. We will send you a reminder
