Android, This word means a lot in present High-Tech World. Today

Smartphone are known for its operating system which is

Android. Earlier there is no option for operating systems like Android

in mobile, as usual there are symbian, java featured operating

systems but today things had changed a lot, everyone wants a

Smartphone which is functioned on Android only.

1.Android wasn’t made by Google. Android was

actually developed buy the company Android, Inc.

in Palo Alto, California. The company was

established in October 2003 by founders Andy

Rubin, Chris White, Nick Sears, and Rich Miner.

Their reason for starting the company and

developing Android was to create a smart mobile

device that was more aware of the user’s wants,

preferences, and location. 

2. Android’s Operating System is based off of LinuxThe operating system is primarily based off of Linux kernel and Google has made several changes to make it go above and beyond the original basis of

Linux kernel.

G1

The very first phone to be released

using Google’s Android Operating

phone that was launched to compete

with Apple’s iPhone.

Android is Open SourceGoogle, along with many

others, is a member of the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), which strives to develop open standards for mobile devices.

This means that users are able to see different processes

associated with the development and design of

different products. 

Who gave birth to Android?

Well.. Google didn’t. Android Inc. was actually a company bought by Google back in 2005.

Android Inc. was originally founded in 2003.
