Designation of $1,000 scholarship awards or other disbursements as agreed to by the Trustee Committee will commence October 2011.The GDI-Saskatoon Health Region Awards is open to University or Technical students enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution pursuing a degree, diploma, certificate related to career opportunities with the SHR.

Scholarship recipients grant permission to Gabriel Dumont Institute and Saskatoon Health Region to publish their name, photo, course of study and submitted statement for publication purposes should they receive an award.SHR encourages all award recipients to pursue summer employment opportunities with SHR.

To assist in building a workforce that is representative of the Saskatoon community and aligns with the Saskatoon Health Region (SHR) values by supporting Metis students pursuing post secondary accreditation in Health Careers with priorities on:

∞ Hard to Recruit Areas (SHR website)∞ Management∞ Therapies∞ Science and Technology∞ Nursing, Social and Community∞ Applicants interested working in SHR rural communities

∞ Self-declare as Métis

∞ Provide a copy of a valid Saskatchewan Health Card

∞ Submit most recent academic transcripts

∞ Be a full-time student enrolled in final year of course study with an expected graduation within 12-months of application

∞ Demonstrate a financial need

∞ Submit a one -page biography/essay attesting to your leadership skills, and community involvement outlining your Métis culture.

∞ Articulate an interest in employment with the SHR

∞ Submit a current resume

∞ Sign release form allowing GDI-SHR to use photo information in promotional material.
