What You Already Know About Colors

• You know that there are many colors • Perhaps you are wearing more than one

color today• Some colors and light and others are

dark

What You Already Know About Shapes

• You also know that there are many shapes• Take a look around you and see the various

shapes• Some shapes have sides and others do not

• Red is a primary color.• This means No other colors

can be mixed to create red.

• Blue is a primary color.• This means No other color can

make blue.

Yellow

• Yellow is a primary color.• This means No colors can be

mixed to create yellow.

Black

• Black is a neutral color.• This means black doesn’t

usually show up on the color wheel.

Purple

• Purple is a secondary color.• Blue + Red = Purple

Brown

• Brown is a special color because it can be both a neutral color or a secondary color. • Red + Green = Brown

Examples of Brown Objects

Pink

• Pink is a secondary color.• This means two other colors can be

mixed to create pink.• Red + White = Pink

Orange

• Orange is a secondary color.• This means two together colors can be

mixed to create orange. • Yellow + Red = Orange

Green

• Green is a secondary color.• This means two other colors can be mixed to

create green.• Yellow + Blue = Green

White

•White is a neutral color.• This means white doesn’t

show up on the color wheel.•White is a very light color that

shows on various colored background. White
