DeSoto State Park has 78 excellent Alabama campsites located in a beautiful setting.

This beautiful waterfall is formed by Little River dropping about 104 feet into a gorge. In the 1920s North Alabama's first hydro-electric dam was built above DeSoto Falls, which supplied power to nearby Fort Payne, Mentone, Valleyhead, Collinsville , Alabama and Menlo, Georgia. DeSoto Falls is about 6 miles from the main part of DeSoto State Park, near Mentone, Alabama and is accessible by County Road 89 that goes thru the park.

DeSoto State Park is the place to camp in the great outdoors! The park features improved & primitive campgrounds, with campsites located in a wooded setting.

Weiss Lake provides almost 36,000 acres of fishing along the Coosa River, with about 426 miles of shoreline. Located 20 miles from DeSoto State Park in Cherokee County.

From Alabama to Canada, the Appalachians contain unique ecosystems and high biodiversity, including birds and neotropical Bat. The caves beneath the forest is also home to new species discovered by scientists. River systems that flow through this land are among the most biodiverse on the planet, according to the Nature Conservancy. All this is threatened by deforestation, development of energy sources and invasive pests.

The Tennessee River is the largest tributary of the Ohio River. Has an approximate length of 1049 km and is located in the Southern Region of the United States of America in the Tennessee Valley. It is formed at the confluence of the Holston and French Broad rivers in the east of Knoxville, Tennessee. From Knoxville, runs to the southwest by the East Tennessee toward Chattanooga before entering Alabama. Tour in northern Alabama and eventually form a part of the state border with Mississippi, before returning to Tennessee.

At almost 800 amendments and 310,000 words, it is the world's longest constitution and is roughly forty times the length of the U.S.
